European Coworking Day was first envisioned in 2022 by Claudius Krucker, co-president of Coworking Switzerland. The inaugural event took place in 2023, with the aim of creating a shared European celebration that showcases the diversity and core values of coworking. This year, it will be held on 14 May.
Joining the celebration is Open Coworking Week , originally launched in 2021 under the FreelancerBlog initiative. Now organised by the Coworking Hungary Association, the 2025 edition will run from 12–16 May, with a wide range of Hungarian coworking spaces taking part once again.
It’s the perfect chance to see what coworking is all about—whether you're looking for a quiet spot to focus, keen to meet inspiring professionals, or curious about new opportunities for collaboration.
During Open Coworking Week, each participating space hosts at least one Open Day, where anyone can drop in—just register in advance—and get a feel for the space. It’s a chance to test the infrastructure, meet fellow professionals, and discover the coworking vibe, all without any commitment.
But there’s more to the week than just free trial days.
Many coworking spaces offer special deals during this period, including discounted memberships, free day passes, and even reduced rates on monthly plans—perfect if you decide you’d like to stick around a bit longer.
