What if giving weren’t just a campaign or a one-time act, but a conscious, well-designed, and long-term sustainable practice? The Giving Manifesto is the first initiative in Hungary to lay out how generosity can become a strategic tool for creating real social impact. Coworking Hungary is proud to join House of Giving, a movement that promotes this new mindset – through community, shared experiences, and accessible tools for all.
House of Giving is more than a project – it’s a mindset, a community, and a knowledge-sharing platform that encourages everyone to make giving a natural part of their lives, whether through time, attention, knowledge, or financial support. Founded by Veronika Pistyur (Bridge Budapest) and Viktória Vizler (Biggeorge Foundation for Equal Opportunities), the initiative is not only meant to inspire, but also to educate – from kids and students to corporate leaders.
Giving goes beyond money
House of Giving aims to make the power of generosity tangible from an early age. Children can give through kindness, empathy, attention, and sharing – and these acts can become lifelong habits. University students, for example, can enroll in a 12-week accredited course at the University of Pécs, where 24 well-known philanthropists share their personal stories. Meanwhile, parents and educators can use the Giving Guide – a playful, experience-based toolkit designed to help children learn to give in a natural and joyful way.
Whether it’s volunteering or financial support, giving becomes even more powerful when shared as a community experience. One of the initiative’s most important messages is this: everyone can give,in their own way. Even those who are in need themselves – because the spirit of generosity is a fundamental human trait.
Coworking Hungary joins the movement
Community has always been a key value for Coworking Hungary, so joining House of Giving felt like a natural step. We believe that coworking spaces are not only hubs for professional collaboration, but also places where meaningful human connections form – and where generosity and social responsibility can thrive. We want to show our members that a culture of giving is not just a possibility, but a powerful resource – one we can all draw from.
